O’Neal to Co-Host Seniors for Safe Driving Course
HARRISBURG – In an effort to help older drivers maintain sharp driving skills, Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) is teaming up with Seniors for Safe Driving to offer a PennDOT-approved course to seniors living in the 48th Legislative District.
The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at THE ROCK,
2203 W. Pike St., Houston.
“As a life-long learner, it’s always a good idea to brush up on one’s skills,” O’Neal said. “Traffic volumes have increased since many older drivers first took their test decades ago. I have even picked up some tips from previous courses we have hosted.”
By taking the course, participants will learn about current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate their vehicle safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. This is classroom instruction only. No on-the-road driving or classroom testing will occur.
The cost to attend is $16 and is payable to Seniors for Safe Driving. This cost includes lunch. Participants receive a 5% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years. To register, please call 1-800-559-4880 or visit
