Port Authority ConnectCards Available Through O’Neal’s Washington Office
January 16, 2020
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced his Washington district office now has the equipment to process Port Authority ConnectCards.
Only seniors who currently use their Medicare ID card to ride public transportation for free must obtain a Senior ConnectCard. The Port Authority will continue to accept blue or yellow Pennsylvania Senior Transit Cards indefinitely.
“I’m pleased my office can now offer this service to area seniors,” O’Neal said. “For many, public transportation is vital in order to visit the doctor or pick up food and other essentials. By providing this opportunity in the city of Washington, it will be easier to take advantage of the free fares.”
The Senior ConnectCard permits adults age 65 or older to ride for free on Port Authority vehicles, including buses, light rail and inclines, during all hours of operation. If residents wish to register for the card, they will need to bring valid proof-of-age documentation with them to the district office. O’Neal’s office can accept a photo driver’s license, Pennsylvania identification card, passport, PACE identification card, armed forces discharge/separation papers or a birth certificate.
The Washington district office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and residents can stop in anytime during those hours to register for the ConnectCard. The card will then be ready for pickup within two to four weeks. For more information or questions, call the office at 724-223-4541.
