O’Neal to Host Shredding Event at Hollywood Casino

April 25, 2022

HARRISBURG – As a free service to the community, Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) will be holding a shredding event on Saturday, April 30, in the parking lot of the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows to give residents of the 48th Legislative District a chance to safeguard themselves against identity theft by having their personal documents securely destroyed.

The event will be held from 9-11 a.m. at 210 Racetrack Road, Washington.

“Spring is a popular time for people to declutter their homes,” O’Neal said. “Many times, this includes old bills and other paperwork. The best way to prevent identity theft is to properly destroy documents that contain sensitive information. I’m hopeful this event will make it easy for residents to do that.”

Acceptable items include all paper documents. No more than three brown paper grocery bags or open small cardboard boxes per household are permitted, and no businesses, please. Bags are preferred to boxes. In addition, no large binder clips or hardbound covers will be accepted. Materials more than 1 inch thick will need to be broken down.

All items to be shredded are asked to be placed in the trunk of the vehicle, and participants should not get out of their vehicle in order to speed the process. Once a person arrives at the event, he or she should open their trunk.

For more information, contact O’Neal’s Washington district office at 724-223-4541.

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County includes the city of Washington; Chartiers, North Franklin, North Strabane and South Strabane townships; and Canonsburg, East Washington and Houston boroughs.
