HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington), whip of the House Republican Caucus, today released the following statement in response to the National Football League announcing it has chosen Pittsburgh to host the 2026 Draft.
“As a lifelong resident of western Pennsylvania and an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, I am thrilled that the NFL selected Pittsburgh to host the 2026 Draft. The Steelers franchise has a storied history and is an A-class organization. Football is in the DNA of our residents. In addition to being home to six Super Bowl titles, we have many hometown boys who have grown up to play and coach on other Super Bowl teams.
“Our city has played host to many national and world-class sporting and cultural events. As the nation marks its semiquincentennial, it only makes sense that the draft should be held in the state that is home to our country’s birth. I’m confident the draft will kickoff another City of Champions era.”
