HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced he is co-hosting with Seniors for Safe Driving a seminar on Thursday, Oct. 10, to help mature drivers sharpen their skills.

The PennDOT-approved program will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department Station 2, 172 Oak Spring Road, Washington. A free lunch will be provided.

“As many mature drivers first received their driver’s licenses decades ago, a refresher on traffic laws and best practices can be helpful,” O’Neal said. “No behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided. Instead, all learning will occur in the classroom. Prior participants have found this seminar helpful, and the discount on vehicle insurance is a plus.”

By taking the course, participants will learn about current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate their vehicle safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. No on-the-road driving or classroom testing will occur.

The cost to attend is $17 paid directly to Seniors for Safe Driving, and participants receive a 5% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years. To register, please call 1-800-559-4880 or visit RepOneal.com/events. For additional information, call O’Neal’s district office at 724-223-4541.
