HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced more than $1.3 million in Local Share Account grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for projects throughout the 48th Legislative District.

Act 71 of 2004 provides for the distribution of LSA gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Each of these grants will address critical needs in the 48th Legislative District,” O’Neal said. “Some tackle sewer and wastewater problems. Another ensures a historic site will be accessible for years to come. The final one provides peace of mind to our older residents. I will continue to advocate for funds for Washington County.”

Those receiving grants are:

• Carroll Township Authority – $200,000 for a sewer lateral rehabilitation project in the Victory Hills and Craven Hills areas.
• City of Washington – $184,500 to rehabilitate the flooring and pathway to the historic stone pavilion in Washington Park.
• Morris Township – $38,017 to complete a wastewater treatment plant planning project in the village of Prosperity.
• North Franklin Township – $750,000 for construction, engineering and administrative costs to expand public sewer services.
• Washington County Redevelopment Authority – $135,000 to replace and upgrade call-for-aid pull cords in senior housing facilities in Washington County.

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County covers the city of Washington; Amwell, part of Carroll (Districts 3, 4 and 5), East Finley, Fallowfield, Morris, North Franklin, part of North Strabane (Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), Nottingham, Somerset, South Franklin, South Strabane, and West Finley townships; and the boroughs of Donora, East Washington and Green Hills.
