O’Neal Announces Grants to Historical Societies
December 11, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced more than $21,000 in Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission grants were awarded to the Bradford House Historical Association, the Donora Historical Society and the Washington County Historical Society.
The grants came from the Cultural and Historical Support program, which provides general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and official historical societies that are not directly supported by other state agency operating support programs, and the Historical and Archival Records Care program, which improves the preservation and accessibility of historically significant records maintained by historical societies, academic institutions, local governments and other historical-records repositories.
“Historical societies assist with preserving history so generations to come can better understand the past and how the region has evolved,” O’Neal said. “I’m pleased to support a state budget that funds these programs.”
The groups receiving Cultural and Historical Support grants were:
• Bradford House Historical Association – $7,500 for operational support of the Bradford House Museum, Whiskey Rebellion Education and Visitor Center, and the Meeting House.
• Washington County Historical Society – $9,000 for general operating costs.
The Donora Historical Society received a $5,000 Historical and Archival Records Care grant for the proper storage of items for its Smog Museum in order to make them easier to use, share and be preserved.
