O’Neal to Co-Host Seniors for Safe Driving Program

July 24, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced he is co-hosting with Seniors for Safe Driving a seminar on Wednesday, Aug. 5, to help mature drivers sharpen their skills.

The PennDOT-approved program will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department Station 2, 172 Oak Spring Road, Washington. A free lunch will be provided.

“Many experienced drivers earned their licenses decades ago, and a review of current traffic laws and safe driving practices can be beneficial,” O’Neal said. “This seminar is entirely classroom-based and does not include behind-the-wheel instruction. Past participants have found the course informative and worthwhile, with the added bonus of qualifying for a potential discount on their vehicle insurance.”

By taking the course, participants will learn about current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate their vehicle safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. No on-the-road driving or classroom testing will occur.

The cost to attend is $17 paid directly to Seniors for Safe Driving, and participants receive a 5% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years. To register, please call 1-800-559-4880 or visit seniorsforsafedriving.com/. For additional information, call O’Neal’s district office at 724-223-4541.
