HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced he will be hosting veterans’ outreach hours in his Washington District Office on the first Tuesday of each month beginning Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The office is located at 190 N. Main St., Suite 308, and an appointment is necessary. Please call O’Neal’s office at 724-223-4541 to schedule.

“As a veteran myself, I understand the complexity of accessing benefits and services earned by our former servicemen and servicewomen,” O’Neal said. “I’m hopeful by offering this assistance, more veterans are able to receive the services to which they are entitled. All meetings will be completely confidential between the veteran and the American Legion officer.”

During the special hours, a department service officer from the American Legion will be available to meet with local veterans and assist them with issues they may be having securing benefits and services from the U.S. Veterans Administration, including compensation, pension and death benefits; education and health care; and veterans benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive assistance.

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County includes the city of Washington; Chartiers, North Franklin, North Strabane and South Strabane townships; and Canonsburg, East Washington and Houston boroughs.
