O’Neal to Host Blight Roundtable Discussion

May 20, 2019

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced that he will host a roundtable discussion on blight on Thursday, May 30.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Canonsburg Municipal Building,
The public is invited to attend and listen to the discussion.

“This roundtable discussion is modeled after a similar event I hosted with the House Majority Policy Committee last fall concerning opioids,” O’Neal said. “Washington County has much to offer. Before developing green space, we need to focus on revitalizing currently unused previously developed areas. I hope this roundtable will assist with bringing together stakeholders to accomplish this goal.”

In addition to lawmakers, participants in the roundtable will include William McGowan, executive director of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington; Rob McIntyre, codes enforcement officer with the city of Washington; Diana Irey-Vaughan, Washington County commissioner; Larry Maggi, Washington County commissioner; Dennis Davin, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development; and Scott Putman, mayor of the city of Washington.

Those with questions about the event can call O’Neal’s Washington district office at 724-223-4541.

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County includes the city of Washington; Chartiers, North Franklin, North Strabane and South Strabane townships; and Canonsburg, East Washington and Houston boroughs.
